Yayasan Lembaga Konsumen Indonesia (YLKI) memperhatikan kompetisi sehat antar aplikator transportasi online menjadi salah satu nilai penting untuk dibahas. Campur tangan regulator terlebih pemerintah diperlukan supaya tak ada pihak dikorbankan dan berpengaruh buruk terhadap banyak pihak.
Ketua Harian Yayasan Institusi Konsumen Indonesia (YLKI) Tulus Kekal mengatakan, persaingan antar aplikator terkait dengan penentuan biaya tidak boleh dibolehkan sebab bisa menuju monopoli atau kompetisi usaha tak sehat.
"Seperti praktek kartel. Jadi dua aplikator (Gojek dan Grab) duduk bersama untuk menentukan biaya bersama itu tidak boleh karena itu melanggar undang-undang hal yang demikian," ucap Tulus dalam keterangan tertulis. Cek info tentang

Undang Undang (UU) yang dimaksud merupakan UU Nomor 5 Tahun 1999 tentang Larangan Praktik Monopoli dan Persaingan Usaha Tak Sehat. Kartel termasuk di dalamnya.

Tulus sebelumnya telah berdialog dengan Kementerian Perhubungan (Kemenhub) dan Komisi Pengawas Kompetisi Usaha (KPPU). Pesan KPPU tegas bahwa penentuan biaya jangan sampai terjadi pelanggaran sebagaimana dibatasi dalam UU Seputar Larangan Praktik Monopoli dan Persaingan Usaha Tidak Sehat.
Ketua Komisi V Fary Djami Francis mengatakan akan memanggil Menteri Perhubungan untuk membahas hal ini.
Menurutnya, pembahasan secara komprehensif perlu dikerjakan padahal belum ada pengakuan secara undang-undang bahwa ojek bukan alat transportasi publik.
"Tapi kan fakta di lapangan masyarakat memerlukan itu dan telah kurang lebih 15 juta trip per hari dari transportasi kendaraan online roda dua," Fary menegaskan.
Tumbuhnya ojek online, menurutnya, memperlihatkan Pemerintah tidak siap dalam hal infrastrutur transportasi. "Lama-lama orang memilih transportasi yang lebih aman, lebih nyaman. Fakta di lapangan masyarakat memilih ojek online karena door to door," imbuhnya.
